Bavarians headed to the polls on Sunday in a historical vote to elect a regional parliament and government that could see the long-ruling Christian Social Union (@CSU) lose their absolute majority in the state legislature.

But why is it so important for Germany?
Well, the election could spell trouble for German Chancellor Angela Merkel's fragile coalition government, which comprises her Christian Democrats (@CDU), their Bavarian sister party, the @CSU, and the center-left Social Democrats (@spdde).

Distinguished,

The fact that our dear country do not take responsibility for Nigerian citizens abroad is appalling.

In sane climes, such oversight will not happen; It is a show of dismal and embarrassing image for Nigeria.
Here is the link to a thread I wrote on a similar issue few days ago about whether or not Nigeria still has a NATIONAL INTEREST 🤷🏽‍♂️

Issues vital to national interest are captured under:

1. Primary Interest
2. Secondary Interest; and
3. General Interests.

However, I choose to be explicit on the secondary interest of a nation because it encompasses the crux of this matter.

Grief - a thread . Just speaking from my experience with limited ( zero ? ) professional training - so not a qualified grief counselor or psychiatric professional. When my dad had cancer I moved back home and did what little I could to help, as you do.
After dad died mom was diagnosed with another type of cancer - so she had hardly time to get over her grief and live a bit - she always did the majority of housework and kept our family together - dad was awkward with parenting. So cancer diagnosis very hard...
I could carry dad to bathroom in later stages as he got weak but this wasn't going to happen with mom - seeing her suffer and get thin, shrink from cancer , pretty devastating for me, must have been horrible for her of course.

Today in the world of astrophysics we celebrate the 100th anniversary of an eclipse. But not just any eclipse. This one provided the first observational evidence to the theory we've been using for a century to make sense of the Universe. So, thread #1919Eclipse #onceacosmologist
The theory is Albert Einstein's general relativity, presented in 1915. Why an eclipse, though? Within general relativity, we understand gravity as the way objects that have mass interact with their environment, aka spacetime. Which by the way isn't flat but curved & flexible. Ha!
Massive objects bend spacetime, and with it the paths of everything that moves in it. Including light particles (which by the way have no mass). To test this, you need a massive object in the foreground and sources of light in the background. Like the Sun and the stars, right?
