Wandering what’s going on with antisemitism in Labour? This video sums it up. A member of JVL, an org seemingly set up to deny antisemitism exists in Labour, says she is one of ‘thousands’ of Jews who have never experienced it. To rapturous applause.
What is going on with antisemitism in Labour? Since last year’s conference the denial narrative, propagated by JVL, Chris Williamson etc, that this is all smears by the Zionist media [those crafty Jews], has won out almost completely.
Just imagine any other form of racism getting this kind of treatment. Someone standing up and saying it doesn’t exist in the party (and therefore the many hundreds of complaints accepted by the party itself are fabricated). What an extraordinary place to have reached.
The most important mistake Labour has made is in allowing the denial narrative to grow and become embedded. Victims disbelieved and, even worse, antisemitic conspiracy theories (such as Jews being out to get Corbyn) amplified. No wonder Luciana Berger was driven out.
That someone is given a platform to spew this kind of awfulness is bad enough. That it was cheered as if she had just announced Labour had won an election shows how unpleasant an environment the party has become for Jews. Except the ones who deny antisemitism happens
Here is a genuine question. Is there another group like Jewish Voice for Labour anywhere in public life? A group which seems to exist solely to underplay, deny and defend instances of racism in a large institution?

This is all happening in plain sight. The leadership keeps close and cultivates the very organisations - JVL, LRC... - which promote antisemites and the denial narrative
