Today I witnessed the true horror of forced "immigration removals" on a flight out of Heathrow. A Bangladeshi man was screaming bloody murder as four white guards assured passengers that he'd stop screaming for his life when we took off.
The majority of white passenger put their headphones in to block out the man's pleas for help and that he's being taken away from him wife and kids. The few times they said anything was to make sure the man's gonna have guards with him the whole flight.
I contacted a friend to see what I should be doing and ended up refusing to sit down until the man was removed from the plane and not deported.
After a heart wrenching hour of pleads by the man, the captain decided to unboard him. It felt like a very small victory but the Bangladeshi man will most probably be subjected to many more attempts to deport him.
He faught for himself. He yelled and screamed, but most people just ignored him and sat there. He was able to achieve somewhat of a victory. If you find yourself in a similar situation as I did, please please do something. Anything.
