Looking at some facts for my Imelda post flood report: Imelda was the 6th 10 inch + rainfall in Harris County in the last 5 years for the 24 hour period #houwx #hounews #txwx
2015: Memorial Day and Halloween 2016: Tax Day and Memorial Weekend. 2017: Harvey 2019: Imelda
Imelda and Harvey produced over 20 inches and Tax Day was within a few inches of 20
While folks get excited about tropical events it is the mid latitude systems that tend to cause the most flooding (stalling fronts)
Imelda did not exceed any of the Harvey water levels along any Harris County creek or bayou. On Cedar Bayou between FM 1960 and HWY 90 Imelda nearly equaled Harvey.
