I know we're inured to pretty much everything at this point, but the president calling for armed resistance to the exercise of the checks and balances set down in the constitution is a pretty big deal.
The question isn't whether impeachment will provoke rightwing violence, but how much it will provoke. The president has given us his desired answer, and that answer is "more."
We're not going to have a civil war. That's a stupid claim, and Trump is making it because he's a stupid person. But Trump's presidency has already inspired a lot of murders, and it's going to inspire a lot more.
