For this new version, I’ve finished texturing the wall sections and painting the doorways. I also have some construction detail pics and notes on construction variations. Here’s the Black Baron and his friend Leo (aka “Tin Hat”) entering the first room.
I’m going for something easy to construct on the fly from pre-assembled components, with a nice balance of playability and appearance. Half-height walls are one of the decisions I made early.

On my 65th birthday a few days ago, I decided I’d devote some time this weekend to a “birthday project” - a creative effort just for me. I’ve been playing with ideas for a modular #LEGO dungeon designed for #TheFantasyTrip. Here’s where I am so far.
Designing in LEGO for a hex board is challenging. LEGO does not lend itself 60 degree angles easily. Hinged bricks and plates left offsets I found difficult to work with. I found two parts that were really helpful.
The smaller plates would be covered by the 1 brick thick walls allowing the walls to sit flat on a megahex mat, but I went with the bigger ones once I came up with the idea of putting a “false floor” in the rooms.

OBSERVATION 1 - AshVoq and Cap'n Pike learned to respect each other, like bros. That's sweet, man. Voluntarily admitting you're wrong TO ANOTHER MAN - that's rare in the 21st century. Nice to see on screen 2/15
OBS 2 - Amanda succeeded in her mission from a few episodes back, but also got into what we may call a "Vulcan argument" right in front of the kids. That was awkward 3/15
