Here is the thing about Scorcese disputing the Marvel movies are cinema:

Paper is paper.

Paper is a medium on which you can write something of profound importance, like a mathematical description of some aspect of the universe, or a declaration of rights.
On the same paper, you could also make something entertaining, like a comic book. People might find meaning in the comic, too. They may find beauty and truth and something that speaks to them, but it's still a comic book.

Which is fine.
Now, if film is paper, then Scorcese is drawing comic books and Disney is hiring people to make comic books, and Scorcese thinks his comic books are better or more important or show more craft.

But he's still making comic books.
I have no opinion about his perspective on the merits of his creations versus theirs.

I don't think other people's perspectives are here for me to ratify as true or defeat in a tournament known as Mortal Kombat with mine.
Maybe Scorcese is doing more of what he wants with the medium, as an artist, than any one person involved in the Marvel films, but they are all making the same type of art.

And I'd rather watch a fun but uneven superhero thrill ride than a technically proficient gangster movie.
I've seen Scorcese movies. I've liked them. I'm not bashing how oeuvre here. I'm just saying... his name on a trailer doesn't get me in theater. It's hit or miss whether I find his work interesting.

(My favorite of his was Hugo, which delighted me because I went in blank.)
All I am saying is... if you like the sorts of movies he makes, then you'll probably like his movies. Flavors and tastes.

And if you don't like them, someone explaining very earnestly why you should won't change your mind.
