There is something to be said about the way men instinctively defend other men accused of anything improper towards women...
When that R Kelly documentary came out last year, I remember my neighbour then when the topic came out immediately dismissed it saying that the allegations were false and that it was a way to bring the guy down.
I asked him, "Have you watched the documentary?"

No.

"Oya, sit down. Take this laptop and watch it."

2 hours later, mans was furious with R Kelly. He kept screaming fuck! fuck! towards the end.
Recently, I met with a colleague from the Uni. Somehow the topic of Fatoyinbo came up.

He said the story was most likely a lie.

I asked why he said so. He said the stories didn't add up.

I asked him "Did you watch the interview?"

No, but...
"So you didn't watch the interview but you know the story didn't add up?"

Him: Well, why didn't she speak up since?

Me: Did you watch the interview?

*crickets*

Me: Why do you feel the need to instinctively defend a man you don't even know?
Someone who's not even an acquaintance.

@BrianGCN once put it down to selfishness.

Men will care about other men before they will care about women because they see themselves in other men but not in women.

Maybe it's instinctual self preservation.

Who knows?
P.S: Guys, talk to your guys. I know you'd rather laugh awkwardly and change the topic, but your guy is more likely to listen to you than to other women.

Talk about those uncomfortable topics. Sex, Harrasment, Consent, Abuse.
As a FB friend will say: We're all Recovering Partriachs. We're all learning and unlearning. Help your guys too.
