I would really love for more men to give this a try. You don’t have to take our word about the way we’re treated (although you should) — social media gives you the opportunity to experience life online as a woman. Try it for a few days. Seriously.
I don’t have these experiences, but I suspect treatment might also be different if your online identity is a person of color. I know from anecdotal accounts that this is true for trans folx. It may be worthwhile to walk an online mile in anyone’s marginalized shoes — *although*
I would prefer someone from these communities to weigh in, as I’m aware there are accounts who pretend to be from these communities for malicious purposes, and I don’t want to speak to the acceptability of experimenting with their lived experience, which may feel trivializing.
