Wonder how long it will take the @villagevoice to realize that they missed the plot of the story for decades?

Missed the clues as to why @realDonaldTrump & @RudyGiuliani were working together, because Trump was Rudy's & the FBI's #1 informant against the Mob!
There are several things that @VillageVoice & other media organizations miss when they cover these Trump corruption stories.
The biggest thing they miss is how they all end, with the Mobster in prison? Trump properties have a motto: Mobsters check in, but they don't check out!
The second clue they miss? That Trump's middleman was later confirmed to be an FBI informant or asset. Whether that is Roy Cohn or Felix Sater or several others before & after! There is always an FBI informant involved working for Trump.
Yep, FBI informant Roy Cohn, working as a buffer for Donald Trump helped arrange the deal that sent the mobster to prison. In 1993 when the original article was written, the @villagevoice could be forgiven for not recognizing Cohn or Trump's status.
Much of this article was written in 1993, but the late Wayne Barrett. But @VillageVoice failed to connect all the dots that the FBI & DOJ hid from them during the mob cases that they discus in the article.
But since 2015, the FBI has been releasing FOIA documents showing that Cohn, Trump, Sater & other Trump affiliated personnel were working with the FBI to remove the influence of the Mob & catch dirty politicians.
What else to we find, yep another Mobster going to prison.

How hard is to figure out that all the Trump scandals end the same way? Mobster in jail, Trump 'implicated' but always skates, & his FBI middleman moves onto the next sting operation!
Huh, we are up to our 3rd 'racketeer' exposed in this case! So did Stanley Friedman go to prison for this too? Or was he the one who helped the police video tape the meeting with Hopkins?
Oh a 4th crook from the bank! Huh, he went to prison too!

How come everyone except Trump & the FBI assets that work for him go to prison after these shady deals? It's almost like they were FBI stings from the beginning!
Huh, the bank may have been party to the loan as a money laundering exercise. No kidding...
Maybe that is why they didn't want to press charges or really help the prosecutors figure out how they got 'swindled' by a mobster.
No wonder Roy Cohn was upset when someone at the FBI leaked to the media in 1985 that his office was subject to audio surveillance to gather information on his mob clients!

How long will it take for @VillageVoice to figure out why so many felons end up in jail after moving into Trump properties.

Mobsters check in, but they don't check out!
Why does every FBI sting on mobsters seem to use Trump as 'the bait'?
It is almost like that is his real job description, the FBI has the best bait, the greatest bait anyone has ever seen.
Imagine the FBI's surprise when their target in a corruption case offered to wear a wire to record the FBI's #1 informant. I bet they didn't have the heart to tell them they had plenty of tape from when Trump was wearing the wire!
So the FBI agent goes to get the documents from Trump that further implicated LaMagra! I would love to see the FBI 302s from that meeting!
There is more here, but take note that the FBI agent involved did not open a case as he 'investigated' the FBI's informant involved in the case! Shopped his informant around to some suspected dirty prosecutors & friends of LaMagra to see what they would do. Which was nothing...
Then of course we start to see evidence that Trump & his FBI handler Lombardi started hanging out together! Boxing, football games, the whole 9 yards.

Along with periodic phone calls but all of the "contacts were all law enforcement business involving exchanges of information."
What do we call someone who spends his time exchanging information helpful to law enforcement to an FBI agent?
INFORMANT!
It is right there in their own article, yet the @VillageVoice misses it!
Even better, the author Wayne Barrett was confused as to why Lombardi concealed his relationship with Trump & details of the case when he interviewed him for a book about Trump!

Of course he couldn't tell you that Trump was an FBI asset!
In fact, the interview cost Lombardi a job with Trump after his retirement. Because linking Trump, Lombardi, & LaMagra made it pretty obvious to everyone except the author that Lombardi was Trump's handler while he worked for the FBI!
Of course Lombardi was protecting Trump's status as an FBI informant! A role Trump continued in through at least 2015 if not 2016 in the Evgeni Buryakov case!
If you have never heard of the Buryakov case, it was an FBI sting against a Russian spy. I call the FBI's Wealthy Atlantic City Casino Investor-Russian Collusion sting! An investor, his fixer & an FBI asset pretending to be a Russian mobster! justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/e…
Don't worry @VillageVoice the @nytimes has been wrong on this story for decades too!

Only question is, which one of you fine papers will figure it out first? Which paper has the smarter reporters & editors who can connect dots?

We will see, I guess!
