Like, one half of me is going “why do you bother trying? They revolve their entire identity around the idea that certain stories are indicative of people’s moral compasses.”

But the other half is going “SOME people have actually listened. Maybe you CAN help.. Keep trying.”

I’m just tired of this same fucking cycle. “Hey, please consider my story as a survivor when discussing the needs of survivors.” “No, it doesn’t benefit my agenda to shame people’s ships. So.. Blocked!”

Please practice what you preach and listen to survivors. ALL survivors.

I give a shit about survivors like me who use fiction to explore dark abusive themes, and I give a shit about survivors who NEED to avoid that content through tags and warnings, and I give a shit about potential survivors who may be groomed with decontextualized abusive content.

That is why I advocate for the freedom of self-expression of all individuals who practice informed consent with all consenting parties and refuse to cater my content towards minors or anyone who isn’t fully prepared and legally allowed to see my content.

If you keep abusive content within its proper contexts (like on AO3 where abuse is TAGGED), ppl are SIGNIFICANTLY less likely to be groomed by it. No one goes “abuse? SIGN ME UP!”

So please. Stop trying to remove that safety measurement. It would have worked wonders for me.

I am someone who was groomed with hentai. I know what it looks like, and how to combat it. I am patient and kind to everyone I meet, even if they are viscerally hateful towards me. I would HOPE antis could acknowledge my preparedness to discuss these issues, but alas??

The MOMENT I speak up for myself, i get blocked. Despite the fact that I go out of my way to ensure I don’t speak over other people, even when they’re quite literally speaking over me.

Don’t start convos about abuse if you’re not ready to talk about the complexities of abuse.

Anyway, that’s the whole thread. Just tired of being spoken over, by people who screech “LISTEN TO SURVIVORS” despite literally being the very survivor they’re talking about (aka “groomed with hentai”). They don’t wanna hear me, they just wanna use me. But I don’t work for them.
