Trump, reading material on the US-Finland relationship, stops to ad-lib midway through a prepared sentence about Finland's participation in NATO activities even though it's not a member -- he says they "save a lot of money" by not being a member.
Trump is now boasting about the economy, calling on Finnish companies to continue to invest in the US.

We ended up talking for almost an hour and a half, which is no record for us, but might be for @edgeeffectsmag, even edited down to an hour and fifteen minutes. Nevertheless, there was still so much more for us to talk about. I also had so much to reflect on.
Only later did I realize that Twitter could be a resource here. Our interview was done and recorded. I couldn’t go back and phrase something better, or say that thing I thought of later, or ask that set of questions. But I can now.

1) The Indigenous Peoples March, yesterday in DC, ended at the Lincoln Memorial. I wasn't able to attend but did watch livestreams, and videos, etc.

A dreadful moment happened there, at the Lincoln Memorial.
2) In the videos, an elder is shown singing, playing his hand drum. There is another man with him, also singing, also with a hand drum.

All around then are high school boys in MAGA hats.
3) The boys taunt, chant, and some are doing a tomahawk chop and are singing the tune that goes along with it. Some are wearing shirts that indicate they are there for the pro life march that also took place in DC yesterday. Some wear shirts from Covington Catholic School in KY.

There are many iconic monuments to greatness to see along the National Mall in DC, but there are also many reminders of the ramifications of allowing hate to lead, of leaders subjugating groups of people — many of the monuments exhibit both. Let’s take a walk...
It stunned me when I learned as a teen that we, too, in America sent people to camps. They were called internment camps, and 10s of 1,000s of people of Japanese ancestry, including many American citizens, were summarily sent to camps across the West during WWII.
At this memorial, you see the words of late Sen. Daniel Inouye -- a storied US WWII hero.

His family wasn't interned, but many comrades' families were -- as they fought for country.

Imagine that reality: you fight (and die) for the country, while your family is held in pens.
