John King using racist language like “too urban” isn’t surprising. His entire show is about treating kids in cages, Kurdish genocide and every other thing as “plays” called in a game rather than human rights abuses. His career is based on eliminating humanity from reporting
and boiling it down to wins and losses for politicians, not people.
Which is why seeing politics as some really boring game is so dangerous. you become utterly immune to how these things you’re dispassionately discussing effect the actual world. At which point racism, sexism, police brutality and xenophobia become strategies not problems.
