If BJP thinks that Savarkar deserves Bharat Ratna, let me tell that there are 965 more deserving souls who were jailed in the Cellular Jail, Port Blair.

Why are they more deserving? One reason: They didn't write any mercy petition to the British. (1/10)

First: The list of 19 souls who were tortured to death in the Cellular Jail.

If we are going to award the Bharat Ratna to Savarkar, then we are going to insult these 19 Bravehearts who faced inhuman tortures and died for our country without writing a single apology letter.(2/10)

Second: Members of INA and IIL, Andaman Branch incarcerated in the Cellular Jail under False Spy Cases & later killed during the Japanese Occupation of the Islands 1942-45.

7 were shot dead at Dugnabad, on 30.3.1943
44 at Homfraygunj on 30.1.1944
They didn't apologize!

If he had real respect for the heroes of 1857 and conviction about the cause, he wouldn't have written mercy letters and undermined Indian Freedom movement.
