1/4 MacArthur’s public statement about women in general and @BethMooreLPM in particular is not the uniquely ugly opinion of one Christian leader made in a weak moment on one of his worse days.
2/4 He was simply and accurately expressing the actual theological view of mainstream Catholic and Protestant Christianity derived logically from the fundamentally false picture of God that lies at its foundation.
3/4 Daniel, John, and Paul all foretold a “great falling away” through which the name of Christ would be theologically hijacked by power-mongering men who would form systems of oppression, injustice and inequality under the pretext of Christian orthodoxy.
4/4 “Babylon is fallen,” y’all, by which Scripture means that mainstream Christianity is a failed system operating from a false picture of God and sold out to power dynamics that run directly opposite to the gospel of Christ.
