Nigerians have developed the bad habit of rubbing triple action creams for anything on their skin

That cream is "gbogbonise" that went to Havard

Also, it contains one of the most powerful steriods

Which can cause permanent stretch marks, make your skin thin and can easily tear

And Amaka goes and buys the cream, what she does not know is that those steriods can cause serious side effects!

Remember we said that the skin absorbs what you put on it

These steriods get into your bloodstream
Which may lead to
Osteoporosis- Weak bones
Retarded growth
Immunosuppression
Cataracts
Oedema
Thin gastric mucosa- the stomach lining
Hypertension
Overweight
Increased hair
Diabetes

This can happen in really high concentration of steroids which some of them contain
Some mix it into their children's creams

THIS IS CHILD ABUSE!!!

You are placing these kids at risk of many conditions, some of them may be scarred for life

If you do this, STOP

If you have a skin condition, see a dermatologist, not someone that mixes cream in Ojota
Also, the antibiotic content can wipe out the normal flora on your skin and open you up to infections

Always see a doctor if you have a skin condition

Some of these meats contain chemicals during processing like N-nitroso compounds

Suya is not safe either as the burning can form Poly aromatic Hydrocarbons which is harmful

The best time to examine your breasts is a few days after your period, that way your breasts are not swollen or tender.

Any change in the size or shape of your breast

Any change in the look or feel of your skin over your breast, especially if it looks like the back of an orange

Any lump, or bumpy area in one breast that is different from the same area on the other side
Any bleeding from your nipple

Any discharge from your nipple that is not milky

If your nipple being pulled inwards

any new pain that does not go away

Rash around one or both nipple that is not usually there.

There are different types of Staphylococcus, but today we'll talk about Staphylococcus Aureus

They are found as normal tenants in your nose, throat, skin and even in your intestines,

You can also find them on phones, door knobs, remotes, elevator buttons
But the charlatans around have led people to believe that "Staf Erus" is an STD, and that it can cause infertility and I've witnessed some relationships break up because one party believes the other gave them Staphylococcus!

This particular thread is a reminder. My colleague @flakydancindoc and I were talking yesterday and we agreed to both talk about this as it's like there's an outbreak. It's also one of the neglected tropical diseases. SCABIES again.!
This condition is caused by a mite (like an insect) called sarcoptes scaibei. It is presently being misdiagnosed out there a lot. AMD the diagnosis is often missed causing distress to the patients. There are some reasons why the diagnosis is often missed.
1) Some health workers think that it affects people in the lower class only which is completely false. Infact....I'm seeing it more in my Lekki and Ikoyi people now😁. All you need is close contact to someone that has it. And the infection can be propagated far and wide

Let's talk about triple action creams. Infact I saw a quadruple action cream yesterday and I was like😮😮😮.
Aka gbogbonìse or one size fits all as I like to call them. It is important to talk about it because they have become like oxygen. You'll find them EVERYWHERE you go.

What do triple action creams contain?
Usually a combination of a high or mid potency steroid like clobetasol dipropionate or betamethasone dipropionate, an antifungal like clotrimazole or ketoconazole and an antibacterial like neomycin.

Steroids are drugs that are used to calm inflammation.

I chose this because it's quite common and it's one of the infections triple action creams are mostly used on by 'Dr. Nigerians'😕
So called superficial fungal infections because the group of organisms that causes them usually cannot invade more than the superficial uppermost layer of the skin(stratum corneum). The infection is named according to different the area affected
Tinea capitis- Scalp
Tinea unguium- Nails
Tinea corporis - the trunk and other parts of the body excluding the feet and hands.
Tinea manuum- Hands
Tinea pedis- Feet
Tinea cruris- Groin (aka Jock itch)
Tinea interdigitalis- Inbetween the toes

The skin has two major layers. From top down.The epidermis and dermis. There's a third layer called the subcutaneous tissue which is mainly composed of fat. The first layer also has 4 other layers. In the lowermost part of that 4 layers is where you have the cells that give color
Those cells are called the melanocytes. All human beings (whether white, black or blue) have the same number of melanocytes. The difference that explains the color is the size, the way pigment is packed in the melanocytes amongst other things. The melanocytes produces melanin

Eczema is not a diagnosis. Eczema can be caused by so many different things. This is a fungal infection of the skin called Pityriasis versicolor
Commonly affects the areas where you have oil (sebum) because the organism causing it loves sebum. So you'll find it most of the time on the face, chest, back, shoulders.
It is not uncommon to treat it and it shows itself again months later. O stubborn gan.
