*ATTENTION PLEASE*#AI #digitalhealth #tweeps Today @IndraJoshi10 and I at @NHSX are launching our new "Artificial Intelligence: How to get it right report" with help from A LOT of people across the digital health ecosystem nhsx.nhs.uk/key-informatio… 1/ 14

The report goes into detail on our plans for the NHS AI lab but, more importantly, the research that sits beneath that - particularly the work on governance: ethics and regulation with invaluable input from @reformthinktank @oxfordethicslab @turinginst @FutureAdvocacy 2/14

We (@IndraJoshi10 & me) hope that the report makes it clear WHY we think #AI is important for health and care & HOW we can make sure it is utilised in the 'right' way - not just for the sake of it - within safe & ethical boundaries 3/14

As well as chapters written by subject matter experts, we also cover the results of the state of the ecosystem survey and provide loads of case studies of #AI or #datadriventech being used in the health and care system now - to show the #IRL benefits 4/ 14

So we would like to thank: @ma_demestihas @melissaream1 @TinaWoods @NIHRresearch @jazesk for helping with the survey & with the analytics & with general AMAZING editorial support - seriously never leave proofreading to the very tired dyslexic, they helped ENORMOUSLY 5/14

Next: @oxfordethicslab @Floridi @caiocvm @chrisdburr @JoshCowls @RosariaTaddeo for all the help with thinking through the #ethics and why such considerations are AS important as regulation and how we can bring the two together to harness the benefits for people 6/ 14

Following on we have @FutureAdvocacy and @MattFenech83 who did an #astounding job with helping us develop Principle 7 for the #CofC gov.uk/government/pub… 7/14

The principle 8 evidence for effectiveness crew have also done a #fab job of developing truly innovative concepts of how to measure efficacy in #digitalhealth -so a massive thanks to @NICEComms and @felixgreaves 8/ 14

Next up a HUGE GIGANT ROUND OF APPLAUSE for @EleHrwch and @claumartinezv from @reformthinktank for their work on #regulation - it's mind bogglingly brilliant and you can see it in its full glory reform.uk/research/data-… I found the vids enjoyable at 4.30am so ... 9/14

For providing clarity on access to patient data and how we can facilitate this so that #datasaveslives but also so that it is done in a way that treats the data properly we must thank the exceptional @natalie_banner @Patient_Data and @HDR_UK as well as our @NHSX #data team 10/14

Moving swiftly on, we cannot forget about #impact so thanks to @ASteventonTHF and @SarahDeeny at the @HealthFdn +++ as well as their colleagues for their words of wisdom on #evaluation and #monitoring 11/ 14

For brilliant comments on the #workforce and how we can make sure the PEOPLE who run the #NHS are supported we must again thank @ASteventonTHF and the brilliant folk at the @turinginst 👏💯🙌 12/ 14
