1. Multiple public officials are calling for @TishJames to investigate Manhattan’s beleaguered District Attorney Cy Vance, as details emerge about the increasingly outrageous plea deals that Vance has handed out to wealthy, well-connected sexual predators. bit.ly/DA_Probe
2. Vance first came under fire in 2017 when evidence surfaced that his office refused to prosecute 3 high-profile cases. In each case, it appeared that lawyers for criminal defendants “donated” money to DA Vance in exchange for special treatment. bit.ly/bankrolled
3. One of those three cases involves serial predator Robert Hadden who is believed to have sexually exploited and abused hundreds of OB/GYN patients at @NYPHospital, @Columbia, and their related medical offices and clinics.
4. In the wake of bad press, and to try and rehab his public image, Vance turned to @ColumbiaCAPI to conduct what Vance claimed would be an “independent audit” of his finances. Spoiler Alert: the audit Vance purchased for himself was far from independent. bit.ly/DA_again
5. Instead of choosing a major accounting firm or independent law firm to properly audit his financial records, Vance instead hand-picked @ColumbiaLaw’s professors and staff to perform his #fakeaudit. Despite a serious conflict of interest, @Columbia jumped at the opportunity.
6. This is truly remarkable because @Columbia was both the employer — and enabler — of serial predator OB/GYN Robert Hadden during his 20-year-spree of sexually abusing patients at Columbia University, @NYPHospital, and their related medical clinics. bit.ly/DA_money
7. Despite 19-women coming forward to report Hadden’s abuse (now 40+), the DA cut a deal allowing @Columbia's perv to “pick any two women” and plead out as a Level 1 (lowest) Offender. Hadden served NO jail, paid NO fine, and did NO community service. bit.ly/CUpay2play
8. Before Hadden’s plea, the independent New York State SORA Board scored Hadden a “90 point Level 2” Sex Offender. However, Vance sent the same ADA to supervise Hadden’s plea hearing, that Vance sent to Jeff Epstein’s now-infamous SORA reduction hearing. bit.ly/Hadden-Epstein
9. At Hadden's hearing, his lawyer sought to LOWER the SORA score by 15 pts. Vance’s office, having learned how to better game the system after Epstein, assented to the SORA reduction and conspired to plead Hadden out as a Level 1 Offender. Here’s how… bit.ly/DANY-JE
10. Hadden had 90 SORA pts. But Level 1 is 70 SORA pts or less. Without explaining her math, Hadden’s lawyer simply floated the idea that 90 - 15 = 70. So, with a score of only 70 SORA pts, Hadden would be a Level 1 Offender. Wait, you say. The DA's Office called them out…right?
11. Wrong. Despite the 19+victims involved (some of whom were pregnant during the assaults) Vance’s ADA played along - through silence - to help Hadden lower his SORA score to Level 1. As a Level 1, Hadden qualifies to UNREGISTER his sexual felon status in the next few years.
12. To their credit, Columbia’s students have been calling out the University and its Trustees over the school’s abhorrent enabling of Hadden and other University predators. Unfortunately, @Columbia’s Trustees and Administrators remain willfully tone-deaf. bit.ly/CU_Spect
13. A glaring example is @ColumbiaCAPI’s bogus audit of Vance that doesn’t even mention Hadden’s name, or his outrageous plea deal. CAPI also NEVER mentions that Hadden’s criminal lawyers paid $45k to Cy Vance, which prompted public outrage and the call for an investigation.
