Here we go. Last #PMQs of this Parliament. Possibly the last for either Johnson and Corbyn. The start of #GE19.
Starts off with series of back handed compliments from PM to Speaker. Hails him as a “player in your own right” and an “uncontrollable tennis machine”
Corbyn: “I hope Mr Speaker you will indulge me a moment to say a word about you...I’m sure you will.” #pmqs
Corbyn seems relaxed. Suspect the election is a relief. Campaigning is the thing he most enjoys about being Leader of the Opposition. Parliamentary warfare, he does not.
Look at what they’re talking about. Brexit, obliquely yes. But Corbyn is using it to divert to domestic issues, like the NHS. If this is a foretaste of the campaign, Labour will be very happy. Campaigns are never about what you think they will be. #PMQs
Whisper it, this isn’t a bad exchange. Both men not on bad form. #PMQs
Johnson is being forced to defend a domestic legacy which isn’t his and one he probably doesn’t much like. And as he does so he’s struggling. #PMQs
Labour MPs came into the chamber this afternoon looking pretty miserable. They’re looking less miserable now. #PMQs
Corbyn hasn’t had many good #pmqs performances. Today wasn’t a bad one to pull it out of the bag. As always, election victors are determined not just by those who answer the questions best but by which party poses them. If Labour can do that, as Corbyn did today, they’ll win.
We shouldn’t forget, Boris Johnson has never led a general election campaign before. The Mayoralty is a local elex and he was up against an unpopular incumbent. The ref wasn’t just about him, the focus was on the struggling Cameron. He isn’t necessarily the alchemist many assume.
.@jessphillips to Speaker: “I know you take your responsibility to your children incredibly seriously...

...and now to the Prime Minister.”
.@jessphillips asks PM to give a firm commitment that every child will be able to go to school five days a week after the election.

He doesn’t give it.
Father of the House Ken Clarke’s last PMQs. His first one was in 1970. Between Ted Heath and Harold Wilson.
“Sir John” Hayes chooses to lecture the House on the inadequacies of the liberal metropolitan elite.
It’s 13.10. I think Bercow is going to single handedly see the Fixed Term Parliaments Act fulfilled with this PMQs.
