Bolton, Eisenberg and Ellis are emerging as key figures in the impeachment inquiry. Several witnesses are believed to have named them so far in their closed-door testimony as they raised concerns about Rudy Giuliani.

OF NOTE: Bolton’s attorney, Charles Cooper, also represents Charles Kupperman, Bolton’s former deputy. Kupperman asked a court to decide on whether he’s required to comply with a subpoena.

The briefing schedule in Kupperman’s case will be set tomorrow.

JUST IN: House Intel subpoenaed Mulvaney tonight, per an official.

“We hope Mr. Mulvaney does not hide behind the President’s ongoing efforts to conceal the truth and obstruct our investigation.”

We reported today Mulvaney would not appear for his scheduled deposition tomorrow
Impeachment investigators decided today to NOT subpoena John Bolton, citing Bolton’s efforts to slow-walk the process by vowing to challenge a subpoena in court.

Dems have decided that Mulvaney, though, should be subpoenaed.

Leon brings a uniquely relevant background — before becoming a judge in 2002, he advised Congress in multiple investigations involving presidents. He's also a former DOJer. He's a Republican by background, but he is definitely not always a predictable vote by that metric
