1. One of the biggest systemic problems in political journalism is the failure to note OBVIOUS financial conflicts of interest.

For example, Politico has a piece about critics of Warren's health care plan.

One of the most strident voices is Nancy-Ann DeParle.
2. DeParle is ID'd a former deputy chief of staff for Obama. But it doesn't mention what she's doing NOW.

DeParle is THE FOUNDER OF A PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM THAT INVESTS IN THE PRIVATE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY
3. It seems relevant to mention that a strident critic of a plan to eliminate the private health care industry is someone who built a business around investing in private health care companies

UPDATE: The Trump campaign has now held SIXTEEN contests to have a meal w/Trump since 2018.

We know Trump didn't show up for a breakfast in NYC

There is no evidence he participated in any of the other 15 meals, including lunch in Atlanta on Friday

If Trump did not actually have meals with any of these contest winners, which seems increasingly likely, it would constitute a multi-million dollar fraud on his own supporters.

This scandal continues to unfold.

But Facebook approved an ad today from a pro-Trump PAC that claims Obama warned black voters not to "sell their soul" to the Democratic party

BUT Obama is ACTUALLY JUST QUOTING A BARBER NAMED SMITTY

It's not something Obama said or believes

Obama touts the power of a unified black community
3. But don't take my word for it. This exact same tactic was used in a 2017 political ad and evaluated by Politfact, an official Facebook fact-checking partner, and rated PANTS ON FIRE

🚨 Politico is reporting that the Trump Administration is planning to flagrantly break the law by refusing to hand over Trump's tax returns to Congress.

If the Ways and Means Chairman (@RepRichardNeal) requests any tax returns, the IRS is obligated to provide them. Here is the language in the tax code, 26 U.S.C. section 6103(f) (emphasis added):

Not "may furnish." Shall furnish. SHALL.

This has been the law for almost 100 years.
