However, facepalm emojis can’t change the fact that atheism provides no moral basis or standards.
Your problem is that you still want to be an ad hoc Christian, saving the parts of Christian teaching you like, but of course none of parts that call you to right behavior when that contradicts your own lusts and desires.
Of course, everyone else has equal freedom to ignore the parts of the moral law that contradicts THEIR lusts and desires, so they have no more reason to refrain from evil than you do.

That is, none except the habit of a half-remember Christian moral sensibility.
