So here’s a weird thing in the Rodney Reed case.
The Travis County Medical Examiner said, “If the prosecuting attorneys had advised me that they intended to use my time of death estimate as a scientifically reliable opinion of when Ms. Stites died, I would have advised them not to do so."
WHY NOT?
Why would the official Medical Examiner MAKE a time of death estimate, if he was unable to MAKE an accurate time of death estimate?
Isn’t THAT his job?

OF COURSE the police and the courts are going to make use of the time of death estimate that the official Medical Examiner MAKES. That is WHY he makes one. If it isn’t RELIABLE, it is USELESS. It would be a guess. So why would he even MAKE ONE, in that case?
“There is no way to accurately determine the time of death” is a perfectly acceptable thing for a Medical Examiner to put in a report.
Isn’t the Medical Examiner basically admitting to not having done his job? Possibly even to criminal negligence?
Don’t get me wrong. I think Reed is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. BUT if—somehow—this racial politicking manages to get him let off, he should, at the very least, SUE THE SHIT out of the Medical Examiner.
This whole thing with the Medical Examiner smells fishy.
