A much smarter line of attack against Chromebooks is that they are a way to get kids mainlining YouTube, which is impossible to block on the devices
Also they make that super annoying beep when booted into dev mode and it's hard to remember how to silence it
Show me one Silicon Valley executive who gives their young kids unrestricted access to YouTube. But that's what a school Chromebook does.
I personally love chromebooks, the chrome browser, and Android. There would be enormous benefit to splitting these products off from the Google surveillance/attention manipulation business model
