Oh my god. Joy Reid, after the debate, condemns Tulsi for having views on regime change wars that are "straight out of the Kremlin." That's the sick mentality of MSNBC, and that's why they tried to railroad her last night
Joy Reid must not be aware that Russia opposed the Iraq War on similar grounds that many domestic US critics opposed it. So if Joy Reid had her way in 2003, they'd also be condemned for having a "weird Kremlin-y view of the world." This stuff is just such flagrant garbage
And also, @MMFlint nodding along in agreement as this pathetic rant transpires is really gross.

I would remind people that the 2018 midterm elections had the highest voter turnout for any midterm election since 1912 -- a strong portent that we have no real idea what the upcoming primary electorate will look like and you should ignore conventional wisdom
Turnout for the 2016 Democratic primaries was also relatively *low* and that will almost certainly change radically in 2020, further altering the composition of the electorate in ways we do not currently comprehend
Obviously there will be no competitive GOP primary which means the Dem electorate has potential for even further growth, with many more independents and GOP voting (in states where permitted) than in 2016 or 2008

After years of this manufactured alarmist narrative there has never been any evidence that Corbyn harbors "anti-semitic" views, in fact he has vociferously denounced such views over and over again throughout his entire life. It's a propagandistic lie
The idea that this "Chief Rabbi" automatically deserves reverence and/or a presumption of divine authority, and could not instead be operating as a political actor, is a total joke: especially in a nominally secular society. The exaltation of him is transparently bad faith
If the real "fear" is that Corbyn won't be a reflexive defender of everything Israel does, just state that and have a debate. But conflating it with "anti-semitism" and the idea that his premiership would put UK Jews in physical danger is disgusting

If successful Mike Bloomberg will have effectively abolished the early state primary calendar, and negated the roles of Iowa, NH, NV, SC. He is testing the proposition that you can do the opposite of retail politics and win, if you have enough billions.
Trump also eschewed many of the formalities of early-state politicking. But he still devoted major resources to those states and campaigned in them extensively. Bloomberg thinks he can run a national operation from his Manhattan HQ and just ignore them.
In order for Bloomberg's strategy to be successful, it would be optimal for there to be no clear "front-runner" after the first four contests. So don't put it past him to use the massive "data analytics" tools at his disposal to engineer that (chaotic) outcome.

Tulsi supports the impeachment inquiry against Trump. She advocated that on Fox. She’s voiced some of the harshest critiques of Trump. But because she wants transparency in the process, it means she’s some sort of crypto-Trump supporter, as though secrecy is a left-wing value.
Leftist views include Medicare for All, free college, a nat’l $15/hr wage, new gun restrictions, LGBT equality, pro-choice, restoration of Glass-Steagall, an end to regime change wars - all of which Tulsi supports. It doesn’t include impeachment secrecy or Russiagate fanaticism.

One of those having a difficult time dealing with reality is Joy Reid, the MSNBC propagandist who once declared that Republican Steve Scalise deserved to get shot for his conservative record.
Keep in mind that Democrats and other Trump-haters have invested more than two years in this attempt to enact a coup d’etat against President Trump. They were hoping that Mueller would end up frog-marching the president out of the White House in handcuffs.

Having skimmed John Ringo's 38 pages of "why I am good and the feminist moderator who interrupted me is bad" (here: orthogonaltonormal.com/midden/RavenCo… ) I want to talk about moderating panels.
For a while, my big local con did not routinely assign moderators, so I literally prepared to moderate every single panel I was assigned to. (I'd cede if someone else also showed up prepared.)
Moderating panels is hard. Moderating assholes is REALLY hard. The thing is, as a moderator, you're supposed to do things like keep the conversation moving and prevent people from taking over, but your tools are super limited.
