Last night, we ended up watching Nailed It on Netflix, and after seeing some of the contestants make cakes that were, objectively speaking, so terrible they can't even be called cakes, I contemptuously announced: "I could totally do better than that."
Relevant context: I hate cooking, I don't bake, anything more complicated than frozen pizza is too complicated for me. My one and only attempt to bake cookies ended like this: instagram.com/p/Bz6D0fepsf8/…
So @XieWilliams called me on my shit, and told me to prove it.

I said I'd make a Baby Yoda cake and prove to him how easy it is. Then I thought about Baby Yoda's ears and wrinkles, and we settled on a Mandalorian instead. It's basically a tin can, how hard can it be?
Things started off strong. Primarily because I took a managerial role over the actual-cake making.
The fondant stage is going... less well.
Whatever, will deal with the fondant later. It'll sort itself out probably.

Right now I am stacking cakes, and I'm pretty awesome at that it turns out.
Had some issues with the cake stacking but that's okay, nothing a chopstick can't fix.
Forgot we'd need black fondant. But we melted some chocolate and turns out if you chuck food coloring in turns black. Pretty sure it's basically the same as fondant.
The chocolate sauce T-visor is working out far better than it has any right to, but cutting out the checks is, well, it's fine.
How come none of y'all warned me how fast fondant dries out??
Really wishing I hadn't announced I was making a Mandalorian right now, then I could post this and say "Y'all look at this Cylon I made that was definitely always supposed to be a Cylon."
Ever wonder what was under a Mandalorian's beskar'gam? Well now you know.
None of this would have been possible without the help of Ragnarok, who finally stopped trying to walk across the table.
