on a perosonal note, I'm back playing squash for first time in 2.5 years. I hurt my leg walking back to hotel in Denver after US age-group nationals in March 2017 and it's taken forever to get better. Inactive, I put on 25 pounds (and I was already heavy for a squash player).
at end of July this year, my blood pressure was way too high. So I finally went on low-carb diet and have lost 25 pounds in 4 months while eating so that I'm not hungry. Very proud of myself.
No bread (which I loved), no booze except occasionally, no potatoes, no ice cream (which I love), mostly no desserts. Lots of omelettes. Bacon is allowed and I seem to do best on days when I have some bacon with breakfast for some reason.
Very far from being in tournament shape, but nonetheless went into a Century tournament this weekend (doubles team ages have to exceed 100) and am in division in which one player has to be 70. Just won first round against decent player.
