@LeeSmithDC 2/ He pointed out that "Source B" in the first dossier memo is "almost surely supposed to be Trubnikov" - in the sense that the planted breadcrumbs point to/frame Trubnikov, not that Trubnikov was the actual source.
@LeeSmithDC 3/ @LeeSmithDC also identifies Halper as the proximate source for several key Steele allegations, but, instead of viewing Halper as a superspy, he described Halper as a "dirty tricks operative" and "con man" - terms with which @RealSLokhova would agree.

@LeeSmithDC @RealSLokhova @dbongino 7/ having read or re-read May article at Bongino.com cited above, I can see why Dan was intrigued by my quote from Fusion GPS book which described collector as known to US intel and law enforcement, since that's a hook which fits Halper better than other candidates
