No-one's having a great election, but the BBC are having a particularly bad one.
Quite unbelievable how they don't get a handle on this stuff.
If the governing party is going to pull cheap tricks, you've got to be robust in handling them.
If the web is made up of conspiracy theory nonsense, you've got to not provide ammunition by being careless with your edits.
Goes without saying that the 'BBC are Tories' stuff is nonsense.
But we are in a period where populists are challenging and undermining institutions: the courts, parliament, international bodies. That requires a confident, sturdy response. The BBC isn't providing one.
