To be honest, the people who should support universal programs like free college and Medicare for All the MOST are the people who make too much money to get any benefits but not enough money to pay for things cash -- outright -- like real millionaires and billionaires.
People who make over $100,000 generally don't qualify for any type of assistance, so their insurance premiums are a b*tch, their childcare is a MF, rent or mortgage (if they're lucky) drain them, they're living paycheck to paycheck but their salary looks good on paper
Means testing programs absolutely have this group falling into the gaps and they have the unfortunate responsibility of paying federal income taxes but getting absolutely no benefit from this system.

This is the group Mayor Pete's mean testing garbage is going to devastate. But
Here's the gag. Means testing programs target that group and then that group begins resenting people who get the benefit. These programs are completely irrelevant to "Rich Kids". They're paying cash for college.

But lower-middle-class families? They pay the bill.
Families who fall in the gap should be advocating the hardest for these programs. But a percentage of that group finds nobility in their struggle -- or, in some cases, solidarity with actual rich families??? (which is a weird-ass flex considering they're 1 check from eviction)
Basically, you're not rich if you're making $150,000 a year with a family. So have some solidarity with the working class for christ sake.
tl;dr

Unless you make enough money to pay for your kids' college CASH, and enough to pay for all your deductibles, premiums and copays without breaking a sweat, you should support Free College for All and Medicare for All.
