the officers plainly said, 'we will withdraw charges against him'. He was saved purely because of diligent reporting who revealed the entire sequence. The 'bracelet' did not even belong to him. The point is that when girl's kin approach police, they're not given proper response
and that there was laxity at different steps but the moment the cops claim that the 'culprits' are arrested or killed, suddenly everyone is happy and all questions are forgotten. The force becomes most efficient. Because people somehow want 'vigilante justice', even if unsure...
..the suspect is involved or not, without judicial process. Our system has issues, we have a slow legal process, but what makes us so happy when people are gunned down? Earlier it used to happen that whenever there was 'crumbling law-and-order', an encounter made everyone 'happy'
The problem is that even in a 10-yr-old girl's disappearance, when family reached police station, response was 'bhaag gayi hogi'. Be sensitive & prompt when a girl goes misisng or there is SOS call, 'encounter' is later, first be sensitive, act, save life
