Presidential Blackmail, a thread. Let us discuss how President @MBuhari is easily the most easily blackmailed President in the history of Nigeria. I’ve been doing some interesting observations I like to share -1/ 
The second coming of President Buhari was bound to be filled with major blackmail. It is widely known that this perennial introvert & disciplinarian is not widely loved by the elites of Nigeria that are known to be garrulous and naturally materialistic. He is a weirdo among em 2/
But on four matters he was easily susceptible to blackmail. First, is the matter of religion. Second, is the matter of ethnic nepotism. Third, is the matter of human rights. Fourth, is the matter of economy. Lets examine them all dispassionately and how this works -/3
On the matter of religion, from@time immemorial a very secular, private and one-wife Moslem General whose closest aides are Xtians has always been demagogued by his enemies as a bigot. No one can point exactly to where this propaganda started. But it always stuck since 1999. -4/
The whispers I believe began right after he voiced opposition to General Obasanjo, an old boss who hated his guts clearly. Somehow, of all the blackmails the President seem to have made personal efforts to dispel this in his many choices of Pastors as running mates. Tough -/4
Now if they won’t get him on religion, ethnic bigotry was an easier one in Nigeria’s large diverse ethnic tapestry. A Fulani man from the NW, every Northern sounding name he appoints always carries the cross of being grossly inadequate for our tribalistic southern friends —/5
And to prove the people that peddle this theory are not fair, imagine half baked paper written on the subject by a supposed academic.

How can you make 17 appointments and 17 are from the North and 5 from the South? I no sabi maths? And if you look online this complete academic nitwit is so widely quoted on this subject matter as if he is an expert. I also wondered how quickly he rushed to press in 2015. -/7

Of course this is coming off a period of 5 years in Nigeria when if you were not South-South or South East you were practically frozen out of Federal Government save a few Minority Northern Christians who thrived under @GEJonathan. This by the way is a known FACT.
Of course, you need not wonder the region of origin of the Chief Blackmailers since 2015. I remember that the SW had no single representation in Nigeria’s first 12 from 2011 to 2015. Nobody died. Life was fine. Abi? -/10
Third on this matter of human rights. One must put the corrupt tendencies of Nigeria’s so called NGO industry and CSO machinery in perspective, and their treasonable tendencies to really understand their hatred of General Buhari and the blackmail power it carries -/14

It is necessary to give this background to know why the natural tendencies of this category of traders in Nigeria is to oppose Buhari despite their mouthing of pro-good governance policies. Most of them up close will volunteer to you they can’t stand the man. It is fine. -/16
So what they do is to use his past record as a military dictator to blackmail him, something they didn’t do to Obasanjo. OBJoke killed Fela’s mother, killed students in Ali Must Go riots, initiated crazy coup decrees but none of that stuff mattered since he was their sponsor -/17
Or perhaps it is that PMB never sought to ingratiate himself to them even after office in 1985, but instead built people power between 2002 and 2015 to win leveraging the power of passion that usurps these marauders claim to fame. Envy? May be. They don’t get it. -/18
Between 1999 & 2007 while King OBJoke reigned, our later day NGO Saints watched idly as courts were invaded, legislators sacked by minority groups, community vanquished, deputy haunted & 3rd term nearly procured. They kept hailing. Let PMB try it. We won’t hear word. -/19
The permanent blackmail of the President on court orders & attempt to curtail subversive elements acting with foreign powers like IMN, Kanu & Sowore is actually quite treasonous but exposes the underbelly of our CSO industry.The President himself is to blame. He falls for it -/20
This is one blackmail the President is still struggling to curtail, perhaps because of his personal reputation as an “hard man”. The man goes to lengths to manage the reputation, appearing soft for example with the Shiites - something that should have been curtailed swiftly. -/21
The last one is the handy one for the “money class” and so called “new money”. Tech Boys, Economic Literati, & late comers to this game of politics. They like money. So they go by the rumors that since Buhari doesn’t like to steal he hates people making money-Blackmail Alert -/22
They chalk up statistics that Buhari caused 1981/82 recession as quickly as they blame him for 2016 recession while conveniently forgetting that this man always got power after Kleptomaniacs whom he nearly always had to clean after. NPN and PDP. He always succeeded too. -/23
This last blackmail works also because the Prez is notoriously suspicious of the monied class, whose wealth are generally based on cronyism than innovation or hard work. It is a fact. Look at the Top 10 wealth in Nigeria it is based on a License: Import, Bank, Telco, Oil -/24
And of course, the President has every right to look down on making money in this monopolistic way drabbed in “fancy grass to grace stories” for the uninitiated bcos he has been around & knows better. But heck, don’t blackmail him. Make your money. -/25
