Dear @awscloud @AWSSupport @AWSSecurityInfo

As a leader in Financial Services in the U.K., I would like to clarify with you about an urgent issue at the #Nigerian election tribunal.

@inecnigeria claimed that there was an outage in your service on the 25th of February 2023… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
I have written in good faith hoping that you will respond timely as this has huge implications on your reputation and corporate responsibility.

Therefore, you will be doing yourself a favour by responding emphatically to this request.

Thank you 🙏
Every well meaning #Nigerian must add their voice to this issue.

Considering over $600m of our meagre resources was spent on this election, we cannot accept this irresponsible behaviour by @inecnigeria and tacit support by @awscloud @AWSSupport

Unacceptable!

“They beat the hell out of me ... The suffering was too much.”

@mokhbersahafi with the story of Christy Gold, ringleader in a criminal network that lures women from #Africa + forces them into prostitution in brothels, backstreets + bars in #Dubai.

Gold remains a fugitive from justice – part of what anti-trafficking activists + officials say is a thriving underground of suspected #Nigerian sex traffickers who have taken refuge in #UAE. via @Reuters @specialreports
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said any suggestion the UAE “tolerates human trafficking or that it has little regard to the victims of this heinous crime is utterly false.” Such allegations, the ministry said in response to questions, were “baseless and without foundation.”

On 14th March, in #Kigali, #Rwanda, @MosengoOmba, the General Secretary of @CAF_Online, called me a “mercenaire” (mercenary) because of my journalism, which criticises, FACTUALLY, what is going wrong in CAF. I am going to ask him who the real mercenary in African football is.
For the first time in the history of @CAF_Online, we have a General Secretary that is NOT the LEGAL national of any African country. Yes, he is of #DRC descent. But he has no legal citizenship of any country in #Africa. I will explain…
Under the laws of the Democratic Republic of Congo, dual nationality is strictly forbidden by law. Once you take up the nationality of another country, you CANNOT be a national of DRC. @MosengoOmba is a citizen of #Switzerland, and lost his DRC nationality, as a result.

Here we go ..

I was waiting in line for a ride at the airport in Dubai.
When a cab pulled up, the first thing I noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for me.
He handed me a laminated card and said: 'I'm Abdul, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement.'

Taken aback, I read the card.

Thread 🧵 on Ripple $XRP

#Ripple is a cryptocurrency, which aims to enable “fast, scalable, and stable”and nearly free cross-border payments of any size with no chargebacks through their real-time gross settlement system (RTGS), currency exchange, and remittance network.
First released in 2012, #Ripple fundamentally differs from #Bitcoin.
#BITCOIN relies on a network of “miners” who run code that validates transactions and keeps the network secure. The network incentivizes the miners by rewarding them with bitcoins as incentives.
But in case of Ripple, “mining” does not generate new coins. All of the 100 billion coins (XRP) were released by the network in 2012. The creators of the XRP coins kept 20 billion and gave the rest to the company.

IATA is disappointed that the amount of airline money blocked from repatriation by the #Nigerian government grew to $464 million in July. #blockedfunds
IATA’s many warnings that failure to restore timely repatriation will hurt Nigeria with reduced air connectivity are proving true with the withdrawal of @emirates from the market.
Airlines can’t be expected to fly if they can’t realize revenue from ticket sales. Loss of connectivity harms the economy, hurts investor confidence, impacts jobs and people’s lives.

The Government of Nigeria needs to prioritize the release funds before more damage is done. 🇳🇬

For a whe now I've been pondering HOW to post about the #Russia-#Ukaine War and its global economic & Geopolitical implications.

Its not easy covering such a huge topic using twitter's 40 word limit. Crucial is "WHERE" and "WHEN" to start?

Where = the Middle East
When = 1973
It's 1973 and the young state of Israel was fighting the combined Armies of Egypt & Syria (the 4th Arab-Israeli War). Military aid from the USA however gave Israels the upper hand. Meanwhile, in Riyadh, 1500km south of Jerusalem, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia was worried. Faisal...
...didn't join other Arab states to attack Israel. But he couldn't stand idle while Israel wiped 2 Arab countries off the map. He was aware that the US the main supporter of Israel. So he & other Arab countries placed an Oil Embargo on the US & some of its allies.

Significance Of September 6: From Nigerian Army Declaring Me Wanted To Shaping HumAngle

THREAD humanglemedia.com/significance-o…
On Sept. 6, five years ago, I landed in Abuja on an Emirates flight from the UAE after the Nigerian Army declared me a wanted man on Aug. 14, 2016. I heard the news on Al Jazeera before I began to receive calls from friends and family.
I was very shocked because I had a chat with the COAS less than 2wks before the embarrassing declaration by the Army under his leadership. According to the Army spokesman at the time, my crime was that I knew where the #ChibokGirls were and refused to share their location.
