All right, I finally watched The Irishman.

It's definitely way too long and, honestly, I think Scorsese could've cut most of the first hour.
The efforts to de-age DeNiro and the others don't work (that scene where he assaults the grocer, yikes) and that's the part of the story we've seen a thousand times.

But the back end -- focusing on the decay and disillusionment of mafia figures -- was outstanding. It's like the coda from "GoodFellas" was stretched out to the logical end.
DeNiro is pretty damn good, while Pacino is a little too Pacino at times.
But man, Pesci. This might be the best performance he's ever done, and that's saying a lot.
