I am spending my 34th birthday covering a House Judiciary Committee vote on articles of impeachment for the president of the United States.

I mean, that is kinda cool. 😉
Dont feel bad for me folks. I am going to see the Eagles play on Sunday (excellent seats) and after today, I am off tomorrow (mercifully) and I have nothing but dinners, fine wines and a couple spa days on the agenda once the votes are tallied and I end my watch. 😉
I also just got a free donut.
During the break - the hearing shall resume shortly, lawmakers are filing in now- my extremely sweet co-workers surprised me with cupcakes and a lovely rendition of Happy Birthday in the Rayburn press room.

Scrolling through Twitter momentarily as I sit inside the chemo ward where my mother and others are receiving treatment and honestly- the amount of complaining that people do on here - and over nothing! - is pretty pathetic. Either toughen up or get grateful. But do stop whining.
There are literal elderly people in here or worse still, CHILDREN, who have poison flowing into their bodies for hours and I dont hear them whine because some account on social media somewhere said something untoward about their favorite (fill in the blank).
That's it.
I tweet this in hope it will cause at least 1 person to take a few seconds and just be grateful for what good they do have.
My mom just got pumped full of chemo and she's over here cracking wise about how she wants to find the healing pool from Cocoon. Perspective!

It looks like this - short and to the point, no frills, striking altogether Article II: Obstruction of Congress.
Nadler suggests that the failure to impeach and the failure to put a check on the executive branch brings us "one step closer to a dictatorship."
This is an assertion of tyrannical power and this is why we must impeach the President on this article (obstruction of Congress), Nadler says.

The House Judiciary Committee just passed articles of impeachment without alleging an actual crime.

White House wants a prolonged trial. Think their strategy is the more sound strategy.

Democrats would love more than anything for Republicans to just dismiss.
Btw, @RepSlotkin is running around scared telling everyone that she is undecided.

She's doing what the Deep State taught her to do—lie and deceive people.

Just last week the office was essentially telling constituents to stick it. They said her mind was already made up.
@RepSlotkin I know my good friend disagrees with me on this. But the White House strategy is the only path forward:

1. To punish this abuse of power.
2. To stop the inevitable redo impeachment when Joe Biden ends up trailing in every battleground state.

If the polls are accurate, support for impeachment is about the same today as it was for Nixon in March 1974 (42-43 percent). This suggests that majority support for impeachment might not the best guide for House Democrats in 2019./1
