Sonia Gupta seems like a fairly harsh person. Which fits, since she spent years as a prosecutor in Lousiana. I looked up a few of her cases.
She attempted to prosecute a juvenile for getting into a fistfight, but lost on sufficiency of the evidence.
She successfully prosecuted another juvenile for aggravated rape by establishing that the a confession made to a DFCS case worker trying to protect a child is admissible without requiring a Miranda warning.

Good news for kids trying to confide in people supposed to protect them
I think that if you are someone who is very sensitive about perceived racial prejudice, prosecuting juveniles in Louisiana is an odd career choice.

But if that harshness happens to make you feel good, then the job makes total sense.
It's possible that prosecuting mostly minority young people for a living does more to promote white supremacy than ordering the wrong type of latte.
At 13:40, she says that she preferred being a prosecutor, rather than a public defender, because prosecutors are tasked with "doing what is right."

She goes on to explain that she did not speak up when her office did things she disagreed with and that she defended the State against people whose rights had been violated by police.

Nobody's perfect.
And that's one good reason we should extend each other the benefit of the doubt.

We should not seek to immediately brand someone buying the wrong drink as a bigot. And we should not cheapen that word with so much real injustice in the world.
Folks, I didn't know it, but apparently this whole thread is defamatory. Shut it down people.
