(1/n) Data about the potential beneficiaries of the #CAA2019 is confusing. There doesn't seem to be any conclusive data. Here is a detailed data piece

(2/n) The Intelligence Bureau told the 'Joint Committee on the Citizen (Amendment) Bill -2016' that there are 31313 immediate beneficiaries of CAA
(3/n)A total of 2,738 Afghani & Pakistani nationals were provided citizenship during 2016-2019, the religion they belong to is not known since online capturing of data for 6 minority communities began i only 2018
(4/n) More than 3 lakh Sri Lankan Tamil refugees entered India between 1983 & 2012. This is their current status
(5/n) As of June 2013, more than 1.08 lakh Tibetan refugees are settled in various parts of India
(6/n) More than 89 lakh have migrated to India from West & East Pakistan between 1947 & 1958. Their fate in terms of citizenship is not known
(7/n) A further 11.13 lakh people displaced from East Pakistan migrated to India between 1964-1971. They are distributed across the three States of West Bengal, Assam & Tripura.
(8/n) There are approximately 2.89 lakh stateless persons in India as of 31 December 2014
(9/n) State-wise distribution of stateless persons in India (as of 31 Dec 2014)
(10/n) As per UNHCR’s Global Trends Report-2018, India has 1,95,891 refugees by the end of 2018 and a further 11,957 asylum seekers whose cases are pending.
(11/n) As per the International Migrant Stock Report, India is host to 51,54,737 migrants from 36 countries as of mid-2018. Of these, the highest number of migrants are from Bangladesh with 31,03,664 followed by Pakistan with 10,82,917 migrants.
(n/n) With such confusing data, it is difficult to estimate the potential beneficiaries of the CAA 2019

(2/n)Since 01 March 2019, there were 12 windows open for the purchase of electoral bonds. The 9th phase and the 8th phase were during April’19 and March’19 and had the longest window period with 20 days and 15 days
(3/n)The highest value of electoral bonds sold was during 9th Phase i.e. 01st April – 20th April 2019 when a total of ₹ 2,256.4 crores were sold . The next highest was the earlier phase i.e. 8th phase between bonds worth ₹ 1365.7 crores were sold.

For the first time in last 5 years, the tax revenue earned in the first four months of 2019-20 by 21 states is 2.3% less than the revenue earned during the same period in 2018-19. 13 of the 21 states have seen a fall in cumulative tax revenue in 2019-20 (till July 2019)
Among the larger states, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka have reported a significant fall in the tax revenue for this period in 2019-20 compared to the same period in 2018-19.

(1/n) The story of the sale of first 10 phases of Electoral Bonds- EBs.
EBs were on sale for a total of 108 days during these 10 phases; 5 days in May 2019, 9 days each in 2 phases, 10 days each in 5 phases, 15 days in March 2019 and the longest phase of 20 days in April 2019.
(2/n) A total of 11,681 electoral bonds were purchased in these 108 days amounting to a total of ₹ 5851.4 crores and an average of 108 bonds were purchased per day of sale amounting to an average worth of ₹ 54.2 crores per day.
(3/n) 2 recent phases of sale (March & April 2019) accounted for a whopping 62% or ₹ 3622.1 crores of the total value of electoral bonds till date.
233 EBs amounting to ₹ 31,09,32,000 were not encashed by anyone & they would have been deposited in the PMRF as per rules.

#CitizenshipAmendmentAct is not an Act that the BJP or @AmitShah came up with to set some communal agenda. It was a just demand made by political parties across spectrum. Here is a letter CPI(M) General Secretary wrote to PM Manmohan Singh on May 12,2012 on Bengali refugees. 2/n
The letter by Prakash Karat rightly pointed out how “lakhs of families are affected, the majority of them from Scheduled Caste communities like namashudra, pondra khatriya, majhi etc.” 3/n

समजा त्यातील काही टक्के लोकसंख्या कागदपत्रे दाखवू शकली नाही तर त्या लोकांना हिंदूंसारखे #CAA द्वारे संरक्षण दिलेले नाही.

#CAA Issues Rules for Bringing Phones to #Pakistan

Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has officially announced the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for bringing phones to Pakistan. These rules are applicable to traveling individuals & do not apply to usual trade channels.
Rules & tariffs are also available on Customs desks at International Arrival terminals across Pakistan

One phone can be registered without any duty
Phones on roaming do not have to be registered & you won’t need to pay duty on them
Any phones being used in Pakistan for less than 30 days don’t need to be registered and are free from duty and taxes.
Any phones used or activated in Pakistan before 1st December 2018 are also free from duty and don’t need to be registered.
