1) The survey without asking papers which is being referred here is NPR & not NRC. The "buddhijivi" mixed up 2 different exercises here. The NPR exercise doesn't have to do anything with citizenship. It's meant to count RESIDENTS of India & NOT CITIZENS of India.

So, the question of marking somebody "doubtful" does not arise.
2) By saying that just because of a person's religion, a 'D' will be marked, this man is trying to create 'dar ka mahaul". I would love to know his argument supporting this ha-te ful thought.

before Modi govt., there used to be no Birth Certificate & just birth used to be THE proof.
Bro! I was born in the yr when BJP was just 3 yr old officially & I've a birth certificate.😀

Just attended a meeting on #CAA2019 in Chennai with APShah as Chief Guest. Most moving presentaion was by @rohini_mohan on Assam NRC. I could not hold my tears when she showed a pic of two young sisters - 3 and 5 yrs- taken to Detention Centre. Their family declared illegal +
Their neighbour for long years with whom father spent childhood took pity and approached HC to contest Tribunal judgement. HC ruled in favour. Family including 2 sisters released after 9 years. She showed before and after pics. You cannot but cry +
it was the great INC that was in power. How did we allow our State to take away our children?

One point that comes across is that this is in the making for a long time. 2003 of Vajpayee regime is the biggest culprit. And UPA built on this the Aadhar system +

As a part of door to door campaign to earn support for #CAA2019 The leaders of Thiruvananthapuram BJP went to the house of a man named Mohanan Nair.

Before letting them into house He asked.

Nair: Is there any Brahmin in your group?

BJP: No!

Nair: Is there any Nair(another cast) in your group?

BJP: Yes ..!
*Two raised their hands*

Nair: Only you two can come in!

BJP: *Hesitated*

Nair: Don't you hear me?

BJP: This is insulting. You can't make them sit outside just because they are not from a particular cast.

2/3
Nair: This is exactly what the #CitizenshipAmendmentAct is..! Indian constitution doesn't permit you to discriminate people in the basis of race colour or religion.

Decoding #ShaheenBaghStandoff . It started with AAP MLA #amanatullahkhan 's speech on December 15, 2019, following which announcements were made by loudspeakers to goad people to reach #JamiaMilia . Outsiders came there, hurled Molotov cocktails, stones on @DelhiPolice (1)
As #JamiaMilia simmered, politicians joined the game. Competitive politics between #amanatullahkhan & Congress' #AsifMohammad aggravated it. Then appeared older women & they occupied Road no 13 & both carriageways were blocked. Asif M Khan feared Amanatullah taking credit (2)
Amanatullah retreated for sometime, Asif Khan sat on Dharna & implored DCP Southeast to arrest him but he refused to play ball. #ShaheenBaghProtest kept growing with hidden hands supplying funds & food packs, tea, snacks, warm clothes, blankets were provided to protesters. (3)

Article 14 & CAA
In a recent TV debate on Puthiya Thalaimurai, BJP KT Ragavan & VCK Thirumavalavan locked horns on the Article 14- “Equality of Law”. Ragavan argued when everyone is equal in the law, why not bring Common Civil Code? For which Thirumavalavan gave a fitting reply.
Devious Ragavan had other ideas; I’ll come to it later. First let’s see abt Art14 & some of the observations made by Supreme Court on it.

Article 14
The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or equal protection of laws within the territory of India.
👇
The principle of equality of law means not the same law should apply to everyone, but that a law should deal alike all in one class; that there should be an equality of treatment under equal circumstances 👇

Last evening, over a conversation with brother SanjayHegde, we concluded, #ModiSarkar is simply not interested in talking to the anti #CAA_NRC_NPR protesters & would prefer to wear them down .
In the meanwhile, affiliates will go full steam ahead with disinformation campaigns.
Hence, it is important to be clear about what the #CAA_NRC_Protests are about.
The #CAA_NRCProtests aren't against granting citizenship to oppressed minorities of neighbouring countries.
Granting citizenship to those seeking refuge, is a welcome move.
Had #CAA2019 been religion neutral, there would have been no reason to oppose it.
But the intrusive nature of the planned #NPR & the stated plans of a nationwide #NRC with #CAA2019 in place as a enabling legislation, make the whole exercise suspect.

We did #FactCheck and dug out some data from Questions answered in #RajyaSabha

What we found is interesting and revealing

THREAD
#DataOnCAA

As recently as on 8th August 2018, Ministry of Home Affairs claimed in #RajyaSabha that data on people from minority communities coming to India on ground of religious persecution from different provinces of Pakistan is not centrally maintained
#DataOnCAA

Interestingly, MHA did say that issue of persecution was taken up with Govt of Pakistan and Bangladesh diplomatically.

What Pakistan and Bangladesh said can be seen in pictures below, which was reproduced in atleast 3 responses, all in 2014.

Putting a thread to tell facts of CAA and the NRC which ARE mutually exclusive. The protests/violence is inconsequential. I will detail why.

(1/n)
CAA is Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. It applies only to those citizens of the PERSECUTED MINORITIES from the countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. It is NOT applicable to Indian Citizens.

(2/n)
This amendment is completely constitutional because both the houses of the Parliament of India have passed it and it has the assent of the President of India.

A thread explaining the provisions pertaining to #Citizenship in India and some concerns regarding the #CAA2019:

#CitizenshipAmendmentAct

Citizenship of India can be acquired by Birth, descent, registration, naturalisation or incorporation of territory.

Any foreigner on becoming eligible can acquire citizenship by registration or by naturalisation irrespective of his country or community.

#CAA2019
#CAB2019

2/9
#CAA2019 enables foreigners of 6 minority communities from 3 countries to apply for citizenship on basis of religious persecution

It does NOT amend any existing legal provision which enables any foreigner to apply for Indian citizenship through registration/naturalisation.

A thread to CAB and NRC, as per my understanding. Feel free to educate me more :
CAA is constitutional if we talk about it separately, without taking NRC into the picture. As, it doesn’t exclude anyone from taking refuge. It’s just about the special inclusion of the persecuted minority, and giving them citizenship.
Anyone can become citizens of India by naturalisation process of 12 years. For persecuted minorities it has been reduced to 5 years. Although, the govt. still hasn't made rules how to identify minorities from three countries if they don't have any document.

Having interviewed many grassroots activists who have organised 100s of protests with even over 10,000 people, I've learnt that takes YEARS of mobilising, conversations, leadership, to keep rallies non-violent, especially when the causes are often life & death. + #CAA2019
Twitterati condemning and giving sage advise to students to keep calm, not slap a cop when he slaps a student, probably don't recognise how HARD it is to be non-violent in the face of asymmetric power of the state. + #CAA2019
We can't forget that a student's slap is not equal to trained cops in riot gear shooting bullets, tear gas & a history of quelling protests of all kinds with cases of "kidnapping govt officials", "blocking govt work", causing nuisance etc. #CAA2019
