This is a beautiful thread. Thank you @PeggyMativo for doing the work that the state and the media have refused to do since colonial rule. We have refused to do an analysis and have a public conversation about education for 97%.
Let me remind Kenyans that this education inequality is directly related our bad governance. When you have leaders coming from the same high school and university cohort, it means that they are listening to the same, same people and using the same, same bad ideas to govern.
We cannot get good governance if we do not have education equity that lets EVERYBODY develop their ideas and find a space within our economy. Right now, education is a pipeline to select same-thinking people to head ALL our institutions.
And we're saying not 100% transition but 100% education, and education beyond schools. We need museums, libraries, festivals, research funding, (green) spaces for barazas, access to information, support for the arts, restructure of work hours and respect for public participation.
The reason that the media, church, school, churches and government sound the same is because they are made up of the same, same people from the same, same schools. They don't know better, and they don't know anyone who thinks differently or even how to listen to them.
