RIP to Bruce Kugrich, stock broker, shepherd druid, and homeless activist. He passed away yesterday surrounded by loved ones and swirling chaos after eating a bagel that contained all knowledge and transcending the material plane. He is survived by two sons, David and Santa Claus

Here's a thing about Great Men of Science Fiction who have reputations for things like sexual harassment and "But we'd have lost al ltheir work if we were all PC like that today":

Maybe they would've been better if they'd had reason to be expect and fear consequences?
They assuredly drove people out of the magic store with their conduct, so if they had been kicked out for that conduct, it's not that we wouldn't have magic, we'd just have different magic by different people.
Buuut maybe if the magic store had had better rules from the beginning, they wouldn't have gone about it acting like making magic made them the lords of creation.

The set design in Cats (2019) makes a lot more sense when you consider that cats

1. Can't actually read.
2. Assume everything is about themselves.
We have a lot of fun here on Twitter Dot Com talking about what bizarre trashfires of shows Andrew Lloyd Webber puts together, but I think his work suffers from the word "phantasmagoria" having fallen mostly out of currency in modern English.
The word refers to dreamlike qualities, but was also used for a mostly horror-centric genre of magic lantern show, and because of the resemblance to "phantasm" and "gory" it's still mostly preserved in horror (and thus nightmarish) contexts.

But forget the horror angle...

I often get asked how I became a PM and arrived where I am today. So! I’m just going to share it with everyone:
I grew up in NJ and had no idea what the tech industry was until about halfway through college at Stanford.
At that point, I knew I wanted to be part of making things in the tech industry. At that (very late) point, I switched my major to Symbolic Systems.
