Most people don’t relocate abroad just to make money. They relocate abroad to escape the dysfunctional systems, infrastructure and anyhowness in their home country. They move abroad for a better life - good healthcare and education, and to better secure the future of their kids.
A couple of my friends who moved to Canada in the last 10 years were very passionate folks who returned home after their MSc in the UK. They wanted to "go back home to fix Nigeria." A lot of them just got fed up and decided they wanted out.
You will just be chatting with old friends and they will just casually drop the “I’m now in Canada o” or “did I even tell you, I relocated to the US 5 months ago by the way.”

More people who have options are moving out. Very soon, the middle class will be almost empty.
Some people might say anyone that wants to relocate out of Nigeria can do so.

The challenge - people leave with their skills and expertise. And a void will be created. Companies will struggle to hire experienced folks.

Good news - companies will spend more on training & dev.
Overall, there might be a drastic change in Nigeria in the next 10 years when almost everyone who has the means relocates to 🇨🇦. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. Heck, I haven’t properly thought of the outcome & solutions myself. Those in charge need to think, and plan.
I hear a lot of Ghanaians based abroad are moving back to Ghana. If Nigeria gets basic things right (good jobs, security, healthcare, education, electricity, etc), I believe a lot of Nigerians living abroad might consider relocating as well.
