HOW TO PREPARE FOR A REMOTE JOB INTERVIEW

•Do your research about the industry, company and role before the interview
•Do your homework about questions to expect
•Be on time
•Pick a very quiet spot (avoid noisy environments)
•Sit up Straight and look at the camera
•Check your background and make sure there is nothing that might distract the interviewer

•Test your computer’s audio, webcam and internet connection

•Dress professionally

•Show passion and enthusiasm
•Have your pen, paper and a copy of your CV in front of you

•Draft questions for the interviewer

•Charge your laptop or desktop and keep it plugged

Looking for a job, or a new job? You need to start by carrying out a self-analysis. What are your career goals? What are your short term and long-term objectives? What are your key strengths and weaknesses?
Then, carry out an external analysis. What are the opportunities out there? What industry or industries do you fit into or can your skills-set be tailored to? What companies are currently recruiting?
Network with decision makers and those who can get your foot in the door. Competencies are capabilities are great, but you’d get employed faster via referrals. Speak to friends who can help. Cold calling can also help.

1. Know your resume like the back of your left hand.

Ever gone for an interview and you blank out when asked the question “tell us about your background?” Don’t worry it happens to most of us.
Or they ask a question related to a part of your resume and you begin with “erm erm”
As simple as it may seem, knowing the entire info on your resume from your objectives to your experience gives you 'un-matchable' confidence.

It’s okay if your resume was drafted by a professional CV writer. You should still take time out to digest its entirety.

For #TransDayofRemembrance I want to tell you a story.

Last Nov/Dec, I was homeless. @realDonaldTrump had just been elected. I was living in my car. I was cold. I was hungry. The pain from my chronic lower back issues was horribly bad, every moment of every day (1/x)
Sleeping in my car was making it worse. I could barely stand, let alone go grocery shopping or walk longer than about 10 min, w/o being totally wiped out for the next day or 2. I was receiving no medical treatment for being #trans, for my #AtrialFibrillation or my back pain (2/x)
I was unemployed, had no degree, didn't pass, and I was severely depressed.

Only a few ppl know this, but I think it's time to talk about it. I almost died last December. I didn't have much $, but I was doing research on the best methods to kill myself that'd be effective (3/x)
