The mentality of making it quick and driving the latest cars and what not has almost destroyed the Nigerian youth population, to the extent that some do rituals to make money.
Families and the government can help reverse this ugly trend. I hope it’s not too late.

Earlier in the year, I said we needed to create more job opportunities for young people; some said I was defending/justifying yahoo yahoo.

Families need to do the ground work of cementing values of hard work, importance of education and generally being patient while eschewing greed. This must be done before age 10. For all kids, parents need to continually reinforce these values till their kids are at least 20yrs.
Then, the government. The government needs to invest in young people, create jobs or at least a business environment that promotes innovation, creativity & allow young people thrive. If a lot of these boys have alternatives, they won’t do yahoo. Of course, some are just greedy.
I am not pretending to have all the solutions or answers. And I don’t think it will be easy resolving the current mess. But the starting point is having honest conversations and holding those in government accountable per what they have done or intend to do.
Be careful of those you call friends, boyfriend or even girlfriend. May you not date or be friends with someone that will use you for money rituals.
