Second half #MUFC worked City out and took the game to them. Do fans understand how difficult that is against a team that's probably in the top 5 in the world? We have to be realistic about Utd's current level. We are not an elite side, & yes, the Glazers have to address that..
When you play kids, naivety will hurt you, and City exposed that in the first half. But I was happy with the response, both tactically & mentally. Utd have played much worse this year. As a coach once said, you have to lose before you win & learn those lessons from it...
The biggest fear remains if the Glazers will recruit correctly without a DoF in charge at board level. #MUFC have no football expertise within the ownership, and ultimately that's a bigger problem than anything else, much bigger than core tactics on the pitch...
Ole has beaten Lampard twice, beaten Pep in his own stadium, defeated Mourinho. He's beaten Rodgers this season. He almost defeated Klopp. But #MUFC are inconsistent because of where they are in the rebuild. Utd's problem isnt tactics. It's the squad depth, & that can be fixed..
If we can admit that neither Moyes, LvG or Mou delivered the correct tactics demanded by the traditions of #MUFC, I don't think Ole sits in the same category. He might run out of time before Ed brings in Poch but the tactics over 12 months haven't been regressive, even in losses.
Some will believe this is a partisan view of Ole, but it's not. I'm not interested if he's a legend or not. I think #MUFC fans have to be real in where the club is and where it's going. If Ole starts to lose more games, he'll be sacked. Football is both simple & complexed..
Poch is a better coach than Ole, but I'm not sure if he gets more out of this current #MUFC squad. Mourinho is also better in many peoples eyes. It didn't work for him. Ultimately, the repetitive issue is the Glazers & how they set the club up. This is why Utd have fallen.
