Do FTSE 100 CEOs work 117 times harder than everyone else? Because they're paid as if they do.
My eye started physically twitching when that wage inequality was called "irrelevant" on @ThePledge.
@ThePledge The point is simple:
Earning £3.5 million instead of £2 million doesn't make you better at your job.
Whereas earning e.g. £17,000 instead of 16,000 almost definitely would.
Closing the wage gap wouldn't just be fairer, it makes economic sense.

An extra £1,000 a year for someone earning very little could help with childcare, transport, and even diet/nutrition. All of which would help them be more productive at work.
An extra £100,000/year for a FTSE 100 CEO wouldn't have anywhere near the same effect.
@ThePledge If you want to see a perfect illustration of different attitudes to inequality....
