For maximum clarity.

The UK will be staying closely aligned with most EU regulations. The extent to which that closeness is bound in treaty, to achieve trade benefits, or not, to allow future flexibility, is the main question the UK faces in EU talks.
Even if the current UK government decides not to bind closeness to EU regulations in treaty at this stage it is likely that future administrations will take different views. That of course allows us to make decisions in slower time. Though business may make them quicker...
This could become a long series of EU regulations to which the UK will align but it seems a safe prediction that one of the first will be EU regulation 2016/679. Since that covers transfer of personal data.

I know, so much easier to just say we'll diverge on everything...
