I woke up thinking of a list of inconvenient truths. It's an exercise I like to do sometimes. This is what I came up with so far:
1-Given enough time, every existing problem tends towards complete irrelevancy.
2-One day human race will be extinct. It's not an "if".
3-Given a few generations, most of us will be completely erased from history. Nobody will remember us. But not Donald Trump, he will be in a variety of historical articles. I know, this freaks me out too…
4-Blockchain is a hype with extremely narrow applicable scenarios. In many cases when someone suggests blockchain, what they really mean is PKI.
5-Global warming is a thing. The fact that we as a race have all the data and decision power but still refuse to act, proves there's no intelligent life on Earth. I expect any advanced alien race to judge us that way
6-Detachment is fundamental for happiness. Look around you. Everything you see will cease to exist one day. Get over it. Sure culture eats strategy for breakfast but entropy eats everything for dinner.
7-Modern economy has so many new, complex variables that never existed before that no existing model can predict what happens next. Any economist who tells you otherwise is bullshitting you, themselves or both
8-The idea that economists can keep such a complex economic system in stable growth by messing with these variables is equivalent to monkeys trying to fly an alien spaceship by pressing buttons on the dashboard. It may look it's working but mostly the ship is flying on its own.
9-While Hans Rosling and Steven Pinker were right in showing that the world is getting better by most data points, that doesn't account for black swans. It takes just one to wipe out all of that.

Is the likelihood of such an event increasing over time? Yes
10-If you think people 200 years ago were narrow minded, wait to see what the alien cucumbers will think of us in 200 years from now.
11-Horoscope is just as bad as racism or sexism: You are essentially judging and labeling people based on attributes they didn't choose, they were born with them. It's not just unscientific, it's a terribly unfair way of forming an opinion about a person
12-Every ideology is flawed. All "ism's" (as in capitalism, communism, Christianism, etc.) are fundamentally incoherent, contradicting, biased and prone to disasters. Subscribing to an ideology is outsourcing your thought process
13-If you can't name one thing you realized you were wrong and truly changed your mind about in the last 12 months, you wasted one year of your life.
14-Freud was full of shit
15-We are not genetically designed to drive at the speeds, sit for the number of hours, eat the kind of food, access the amount of information or manage the destructive power that we do. Our environment has largely outpaced our pace of evolution
16-Any idiot can build complexity. Real genius can build simplicity.

(relevant: 100swallows.wordpress.com/2007/09/14/gio…)
17-Economics and Psychology were never real science until they stopped making stuff up and started observing the world and running actual experiments
18-Hollywood wants you to believe somewhere in the world there's your perfect soul mate. You will find each other and happiness will be granted. There's no such thing. Love is hard work, every day.
19-I'm doing this as an experiment to see which topics my followers mostly react to. Thank you for participating
Well I'm disappointed to find out that alien cucumbers isn't a hot topic
They will not be pleased it's all I'm saying
