when you look at someone like this woman and hear them talk about this stuff you have to realize you are looking at someone who desperately wants to believe in the supernatural, more than anything else, but cannot because of her conception of intellectualism. u can feel the pain
these extreme academics who are often “successful” in their fields put a huge amount of effort into puncturing the wall of (their false conception of) “rationality” that separates them from participating in the non-physical (got my phd in 1800s occultism... hello...? come on)
this is a very common archetype that is rarely discussed. these people who desperately want to believe in anything but cant will lash out at anyone who has what they want. there is extreme cognitive dissonance of seeing those who believe as lesser idiots but they REALLY want it
by believe in something supraphysical i dont even necessarily mean god although thats the biggest part of it. even just a real belief in higher ideals and actual meaning in life beyond the physical fits in with what im talking about (she lists jordan peterson as an example).
ive encountered this a lot in my life and its always a huge key to understanding someones personality. this woman got her PHD (how many years and hours) in 1800s occultism but doesnt think its legit in any way. lmao WHY. why would you do that. think about it. come on
