Don’t look now, but DOJ just dunked on an insane McCabe conspiracy theory that he got fired at the behest of Trump who someone made multiple career officials recommend McCabe get fired through the magic of twitter

—sent draft op-ed Feb 1 2018 THE DAY BEFORE Nunes memo was even released. He’d made his mind up without seeing it!
That also means WaPo deliberately commissioned this negative op-ed to land on the day of the memo’s release before they even knew what the memo would say
Also: Kris sent his draft to *at least two people directly involved in the drafting of the FISAs* - Tash Guhar and Stu Evans. They’d be commenting on their own work product!

No fact check of the House managers & the first “fact check” is false. The Trump team reference to being “locked out” of the process was to the first 71 days of the impeachment process, referred to explicitly by Philbin, who also explained why WH rejected Nadler’s late request
Also the second fact check says that it is “false” for Trump to claim that EU institutions weren’t doing enough to aid Ukraine. Except the Ukrainian President AGREED with Trump. Unmentioned by AP.

Trump legal brief explains that BEFORE Nadler made request to POTUS to “participate” in the Judiciary Comm hearings:

1/ Thread: In light of today’s @nytimes report that the #FBI in mid-May ‘17 began to investigate whether President Trump is a #Russian agent, look again at Special Counsel #Mueller’s Dec. 4 pre-sentencing Memorandum in the Michael #Flynn case.
2/ Mueller was appointed Special Counsel about a week after the FBI opened this investigation of Trump. Mueller was appointed to supervise it & other matters, both counter-intelligence & criminal, all related to Russia.
3/ One of the criminal matters was whether Flynn, in Jan. ’17 when he was National Security Adviser, lied to the FBI about recent conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.

The dinner made headlines for 2 reasons: for appearing to show the top 3 DOJ official in an open display of unity against Trump and because it occurred on the same day as Trump tweeted an “attack” against Jeff Sessions

2/
This followed a previous Trump tweet in another “attack” on Sessions a few days earlier - appearing to blame Sessions for the ongoing investigations into the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia in the 2016 election.
