deglaciation of W. Antarctica begins
80% of coral reefs die
Arctic sea ice disappears
world crops fail simultaneously
40% of N. American birds go extinct
rainforest collapse is locked in
The planet you think you're living on no longer exists.
The key factor is that global warming, at 1.3C global average today, will hit 1.5C around 2025-2030.
That will trigger big changes according to the best available science.
At 2°C (2035?), 99% will be dead. This appears to be widely accepted by scientists around the world.
My guess would be around 2026 - 2028.
Some scientists cling to the idea that the ice, which is now thin and fragile, will remain well into the 2030s and beyond, others predict 2022-2023.
More intense, longer lasting heatwaves due to climate breakdown will combine with floods to disrupt food production.
If Arctic ice goes the jet stream will trigger extreme weather.
See here:
Governments & corporations have no intention of stopping the destruction.
More intense wildfires, droughts and floods are inevitable as we pass 1.5°C and head for 2°C - 5°C.
54% of bird species will face extinction at 2°C (2033- 2042).
