We only have 8 years left before:

deglaciation of W. Antarctica begins
80% of coral reefs die
Arctic sea ice disappears
world crops fail simultaneously
40% of N. American birds go extinct
rainforest collapse is locked in

The planet you think you're living on no longer exists.
So here comes a thread of threads to back up these seemingly ridiculous assertions.
The key factor is that global warming, at 1.3C global average today, will hit 1.5C around 2025-2030.
That will trigger big changes according to the best available science.

80% of tropical coral reefs will die at 1.5°C.
At 2°C (2035?), 99% will be dead. This appears to be widely accepted by scientists around the world.

The Arctic looks set to be free of summer sea ice between 2022 - 2032.
My guess would be around 2026 - 2028.
Some scientists cling to the idea that the ice, which is now thin and fragile, will remain well into the 2030s and beyond, others predict 2022-2023.
We've seen widespread, unusual crop failures in the past 2 years.
More intense, longer lasting heatwaves due to climate breakdown will combine with floods to disrupt food production.
If Arctic ice goes the jet stream will trigger extreme weather.
See here:
It's possible we've already hit a critical rainforest fragmentation tipping point.
Governments & corporations have no intention of stopping the destruction.
More intense wildfires, droughts and floods are inevitable as we pass 1.5°C and head for 2°C - 5°C.
Birds will struggle to survive climate breakdown.
54% of bird species will face extinction at 2°C (2033- 2042).
